The best time for raining is when it's sleeping
I started this morning by spilling 1/4 of my Americano all over my lap. I was wearing my new pencil skirt. It's Thursday. Coffee-spilliage is for Mondays only. So, I don't know what happened tonight. Boo. It made me want to go back home and go to bed. Not such luck though. Life is so busy. I am trying to get in a groove and used to this crazy work schedule. Monday and Tuesday I work from 8 AM - 9 PM, Wednesdays are church nights so don't get home until 9 PM either. Thursdays are my only nights home. I guess I prefer being incredibly busy because it makes time pass much faster, which means me and Brian's weekends come more quickly.
I'm trying to create a new pasta dish tonight. It will consist of onion, bell peppers, mushrooms and may incorporate some pesto into the cream sauce... I'm not sure how it will go. We shall see. I love to cook, Thursdays are my only night!
Looking forward to an adventure tomorrow!
That's all that's new....
I love you Cynthia. Thanks for reading ;) Life is dull w/o you near me. We had too much fun together. If I only got one good thing out of NW it was you and our friendship!

If you're happy and you know it, post a blog!
I'm excited that today is FRIDAY! I'm excited that the sun is shining (sort of). I'm thrilled that I get to go see my man today when I get off work! I'm stoked that I'm caught up at work after missing two days!!! I'm totally satisfied with what my pandora radio has been playing today: "Your Woman" by White Town, "Music is my hot, hot sex" by CSS, "Brimful of Asha" by Cornershop, "Around the World" by Daft Punk, "Punjabi Girl" by D.J. A.P.S., "Where's your head at" by Basement Jaxx, "Get your Freak on" by M. Elliot, "Flower" by Moby... Ahh the list goes on. It's been kick-ass.
I'm SO GLAD I FEEL BETTER! Being sick is the worst! I love the people I work with! This is just one of those days wher everything ROCKS!!!
Let's keep it that way!!

loss of words
I'm at a loss for words lately. Also, I kind of get the feeling no one is reading my blog anymore. I guess there isn't a lot going on besides the usual in my life.
Channel 9 was out here doing a story on Barbie this morning. It never ends... from April-June last year that's all I heard and now it's starting again. It's an epidemic. It was fun to have the news here though.
Maybe I'll get my blog motivation back. Haven't had enough time lately for anything, reading, movies, blogging.... nothing.

there is still work to do...
This title sums it up for me. I've made great progress in the college search but there is still ALOT to do to prepare for a big move. The more I think about it, the more sense it makes for me to live on campus, no matter which school I choose. I'm having issues contacting UMSL again to reschedule my visit which kind of makes me want to forget about them all together. The efficiency (or inefficiency) in which they communicate with potential new students is a predictor of how good they will be in helping me finish my degree. I've already been given a lot of personal attention at LW and I appreciate that.....
Obama said " There is still much work to do " in his Presidential address last night. I watched the speech at the gym. I was disgusted to look around and see that no one besides myself was listening or watching the address. They were reading books (fiction), watching sports and girly shows. Does no one care that our economy is in potential ruin, and the President of the United States was sharing candidly with us what his plan for recovery is?! I guess there really are a lot of Americans who prefer to be ignorant of what is going on, but then I say they have no room for complaints....
I think the man has great ideas. I hope he can execute his plan the way he envisions it. For all of America's sake.

Suspicions
I have trust issues. "I'm here to inspect your fire extinguishers". Oh, are you? You're probably here to case the collection so you can break in and steal our dolls. People have a bad habit around the office of not telling me when they are expecting people. This makes me automatically suspicious when strange men appear in my lobby. Am I too paranoid? Yes, I probably am.

Zombies, Time Warps and Haunted Houses
I swear these past couple of weeks that I must be in a time warp. It seems that no matter how late I seem to sleep in, I still clock in at work at exactly 8:00 AM. I do not see how this can possibly be. How can I continue to be on time when I'm running behind in all reality? Time warps are the only logical answer...This morning on the news I heard that hackers have been getting into and changing the electronic warning signs in highways. I know it's probably a National Security breech but it really cracks me up. They've been changing the sayings to things like, "Zombies Ahead" and "Watch out for Raptors". I can't help but giggle!!!!
So, on February 27 I'll be doing something I've been waiting well over a year to experience. I will be traveling with five other women to Villisca, Iowa to SPEND THE NIGHT at the Axe Murder House. While it boasts it's haunting via a cheesy sign out front, I'm more than convinced that spirits exist here. My first visit to the house was in late October of 2007. It was near Halloween , to add more mystique. My friend Cynthia had been assigned the story from our school magazine and it was our mission to find all the juicy details and retell the story of the old home and the family that once inhabited it.
We met a gentle older gentleman named Darwin at his Museum/Antique Shop. Villisca is a small, quiet town. I'm sure they get tired of this grotesque tour-attraction in their town. The tour began with us following Darwin in our vehicle. He took us to various landmarks around town, the first of which was the cemetery where the Moore family and house guests were buried. After driving by several locations (it's dreary and rainy, by the way), we found ourselves at a seemingly harmless old, white farm house. We got out of the vehicle and met with Darwin in the barn. He proceeded to tell us the story of J.B. Moore and share some insight into sightings/sensations at the house.
Then, it was time to enter the house. Naturally, I was a skeptic. I do believe in spirits but I didn't want to psyche myself out here... We found the house furnished the way a home would be in 1912 which is when the eight murders had occur ed. In the dimly lit living room area Darwin explained all the possible motives and suspects for such an evil crime. This monologue went on awhile... then he simply let us go "explore". It was a cold day, but certain areas in the house did seem colder than others. Particularly, the small crawlspace off the Moore bedroom upstairs gave me the CHILLS. I later found out that that was where the killer must have hidden. It was a complete adventure. I don't know why it is that we are obsessed with tragedy but Darwin sure is capitalizing on it.
That day, I vowed I would go back to take the lamp-lit tour and try my luck at staying overnight. When the opportunity presented itself to me about a month ago, there was no way I could resist! I will be prepared with lots of film, blankets, warm socks and lots of enthusiasm for encountering a ghost! It will truly be a once in a lifetime event. I'm so excited for this paranormal journey!!!
Skeptics, beware! I will be recounting the excitement right here on my blog - photos and all. Stay tuned for a ghost-report!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There are women in the museum today. They are working on our Terry Lee/Buddy Lee exhibit. Don’t ask me what this is… This frustrates me. When there are women here I’m expected to take care of them. It’s a full-time baby-sitting job. I don’t currently have a lot going on here at the reception desk but when I do have work to be done it’s frustrating.
This is the third day in a row that what I’ve worn has matched my shoe calendar. Totally by accident too. Incredible. I’m very thankful I have tonight off, sort of. We do have church tonight and that will consume my evening. I need to pack afterward since I’m heading to STL tomorrow evening. I’m excited to meet with the schools Friday. I’m hoping it will give me more piece of mind. I know August will be here before I know it but I’m antsy! I could move tomorrow and be perfectly content.
With the situation the economy’s in I am praying I’ll be able to find a lendor to provide me with the money I need to finish school. I JUST NEED TO FINISH SCHOOL… for goodness sake.
I’ve been digging The Mars Volta this week as far as music goes and have decided to see what I can find out and listen to of Thom Yorke of Radiohead.
I need a N-A-P badly. I need an afternoon off to do nothing, to gather my thoughts and just rest my eyes.
